For Health Professionals: "Advanced Training Specialist (A.T.S.) Course”

This full day, fast-paced 7-hour course shows you (the health professional) how to apply science (especially physics and anatomy) to exercise.  You will learn skills needed to design safe, effective exercise programs for those with disease (e.g., osteoarthritis, diabetes, heart disease) and without disease. All concepts presented are evidence/science-based while having significant practical application to time-saving exercise regimens. This intensive course is instructed by highly trained, licensed PTs and comprised of 5 Modules:

Module 1:  Advanced Orthopedics and Anatomy in Exercise (2 hours) From the cervical spine to the foot, a thorough investigation of the literature compared to "gym science" and how it applies to exercise.

Module 2:  Application of Physics, Sports Medicine, and Neuroscience (1 hour) Building on Module 1, Module 2 delves into problem-solving techniques specific to resistance training and cardiovascular exercise, yielding ironclad credibility.

Module 3:  Hands-on Application in the Weight Room (2 hours) Previous Modules are put to the test in this comprehensive demonstration with active participation using primarily free weights.  Have your workout clothes handy, as you’re going to experience what “perfect” resistance training technique feels like!

Module 4:  Program Design (1 hour) The payoff is applying previous concepts in order to prescribe effective exercise programs for various populations.  You’ll learn a powerful thinking process based on complex concepts that can produce tremendous results for patients in a relatively short time.

Module 5:  Sports Nutrition (1 hour) Learn the latest recommendations for fat loss, strength and muscle development, including recommended eating around workout times based on current evidence.
